The WordPress block editor is so much more than just core blocks and custom blocks! The Gutenberg editor has several built-in opportunities for customization just waiting to be leveraged. In this presentation, we will explore what is currently possible by looking at code examples and practical applications for block filters, block templates, format types and slotfills which can be used to create a simplified and intuitive editing experience.
We will cover templates including post type block templates and inner block templates and filters including those to whitelist/blacklist blocks, adding/deregistering style options, and adding/removing attributes from core blocks.
